Trump’s Praise Validates Tinubu’s Security Efforts – Kwankwaso

By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul

KANO — Dr. Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, Director of Finance at the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, has described the reported commendation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by United States President Donald Trump over Nigeria’s security efforts as a significant endorsement of the administration’s strategy to tackle insecurity.

Kwankwaso said the reported recognition from a global leader demonstrates that the Federal Government’s sustained campaign against terrorism, banditry and other security threats is attracting international attention and should inspire greater national support.

In a statement personally signed and made available to Reporters in Kano on Friday, the APC stalwart enjoined opposition parties to set aside political differences and support the Tinubu administration’s efforts to restore peace and strengthen national security.

“The reported commendation from President Trump reflects the progress being made in Nigeria’s fight against insecurity. This is a time for all patriotic Nigerians to rally behind President Tinubu and support measures aimed at securing the country,” he said.

Kwankwaso maintained that the President Tinubu has remained unwavering in confronting the nation’s security challenges through strategic reforms, enhanced military operations and increased investment in the country’s defence architecture.

He cited President Tinubu’s approval for the expansion of the Nigerian Army from eight to 12 divisions as one of the administration’s boldest security initiatives, saying the move would significantly improve the military’s operational capacity to respond to emerging threats across the country.

Kwankwaso stressed that the announcement by the Tinubu led administration’s shows his determination to strengthen the Armed Forces and reinforce Nigeria’s security framework.

“The expansion of the Army’s structure is a clear demonstration of President Tinubu’s commitment to building a stronger and more responsive military capable of addressing the country’s evolving security challenges,” he added.

The APC chieftain further expressed confidence that the ongoing security reforms would, in the not-too-distant future, restore public confidence and enable Nigerians to travel and conduct their daily activities without fear of criminal attacks.

He also praised the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, and the Service Chiefs for what he described as their dedication and coordinated efforts in improving the nation’s security situation.

“The commitment being demonstrated by the National Security Adviser, the Defence Ministers and the Service Chiefs deserves the appreciation and prayers of all Nigerians. Together, they are working to free the country from the scourge of insecurity,” Kwankwaso said.
