Tinubu, Shettima Storm Kano for Yusuf’s APC Homecoming

KANO  – The All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the APC governors are set to attend the grand reception ceremony marking Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s formal entry into the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State on Monday, February 16th.

 

The event already scheduled to hold at the Sani Abacha Stadium, is expected to draw prominent political figures from across the country.

 

Addressing party faithful in his office on Wednesday over the impending political gathering, the APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, explained that the event was designed to formally welcome Governor Yusuf into the ruling party in a ‘grand and symbolic manner.’

 

In preparation for the high-profile gathering, Abdullahi Abbas inaugurated several committees to coordinate the planning and execution of the reception.

 

A breakdown of the committees shows a broad structure aimed at ensuring a hitch-free event.

 

The Venue Committee comprises 16 members, while the Security Committee headed by a retired Colonel of the Nigerian Army has 15 members tasked with maintaining order and coordinating with security agencies.

 

The Health Emergency Committee, also made up of 15 members, will oversee medical arrangements at the stadium to cater to any emergencies during the ceremony.

 

Abbas stated that to guarantee strong participation, a 20-member Mobilization Committee has been set up to rally supporters from across Kano State.

 

The Protocol Committee, consisting of 17 members, will manage the reception and seating arrangements for top government officials, including APC governors and senior federal authorities expected at the ceremony.

 

Meanwhile, a 15-member Publicity Committee headed by Mohammed Garba with Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa as Secretary will handle media engagement and public awareness.

 

Abbas stated that the reception pose a significant moment for the APC in Kano, ‘a state widely regarded as a key player in Nigeria’s political landscape to showcase its values.’
