No Opposition Can Stop Yusuf’s Second Term — Kwankwaso

By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul

KANO — A prominent APC figure, Dr. Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, on Sunday, declared that no political opposition can prevent Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf from securing a second term in office.

The Executive Director of Finance at the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority made the assertion in a statement issued on Sunday while assessing the governor’s three years in office.

He argued that Yusuf’s performance across critical sectors had strengthened public confidence in his administration.

Kwankwaso stressed that Yusuf has delivered on the majority of his campaign promises, particularly in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social welfare.

“Governor Yusuf has demonstrated commitment to the development of Kano State. His achievements within three years have earned him the goodwill of the people, and that will translate into electoral support,” he said.

The APC stalwart noted that Yusuf’s administration’s investment in education where he declared a state of emergency in the sector and allocated a substantial portion of the state budget to educational development has turned the sector full circle.

He said the recruitment of over 10,000 teachers, the distribution of school furniture and uniforms, as well as scholarship programmes, reflected the governor’s determination to rebuild the sector.

On infrastructure, Kwankwaso said the administration had completed major road projects across the state and embarked on initiatives aimed at improving electricity and water supply.

“The transformation is visible across Kano. Roads have been reconstructed, new projects have emerged, and critical public utilities are receiving attention,” he stated.

He also praised the governor’s interventions in the health sector, including the renovation of primary healthcare centres and the introduction of free caesarean section services in government hospitals.

Kwankwaso further commended the administration for addressing pension liabilities, saying billions of naira had already been paid to retired workers as part of efforts to clear inherited backlogs.

He noted that women and youths had also benefited from empowerment programmes, including business grants, livestock support schemes and entrepreneurship initiatives.
