KANO — The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Jigawa State, Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu, has condoled with the party’s vice presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, over the death of his mother, Mrs. Mary Amaechi.

Nakudu in signed statement that was made available to newsmen in Kano, described the late Mrs Amaechi as a virtuous matriarch whose legacy of faith, compassion and integrity will endure.

In the condolence message, Nakudu expressed sadness over the passing of Mrs. Amaechi, who died peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the age of 89, and extended his sympathies to Amaechi, his family and loved ones.

The ADC governorship flag bearer said the late Mrs. Amaechi was “a respected community leader and devoted Christian whose life embodied faith, compassion and selfless service.”

He added that “her enduring legacy of love, unity and integrity will continue to inspire generations,” noting that her exemplary life left an indelible mark on her family, community and all who came in contact with her.

Nakudu prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul and asked Almighty God to grant Amaechi, the entire Amaechi family and their loved ones “the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”

He urged the bereaved family to find comfort in the values and lasting legacy left behind by the late matriarch, saying her memory would remain a source of inspiration to many.
