Lone Crash Kills 15 Passengers on Lokoja–Okene Road

No fewer than 15 passengers were reportedly killed in a fatal lone accident involving a Toyota Hiace bus along the Lokoja–Okene road early Friday morning.

The bus, bearing a Plateau State registration number, was said to have crashed under circumstances that remain unclear as of the time of filing this report.

Emergency responders and passersby reportedly rushed to the scene shortly after the incident in an effort to rescue victims and provide assistance.

An eyewitness who stopped at the accident scene described the situation as “devastating,” saying several victims died on the spot due to the severity of the crash.

“The scene was heartbreaking. It was a terrible sight,” the witness told our correspondent.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the identities of the deceased or the exact cause of the accident.

Investigations into the tragic incident are ongoing, while further details are expected to emerge in the coming hours.
