Kano Pilgrims Enjoy Decent Accommodation, Feeding in Makkah and Madinah

By: Lamara Garba

Pilgrims from Kano State performing this year’s Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have expressed satisfaction with the quality of accommodation and feeding arrangements provided by the Kano State Government in both Madinah and Makkah.

Findings revealed that the accommodation secured for the pilgrims were decent, comfortable, and well furnished with facilities that made their stay conducive throughout their spiritual exercise.

Each room was equipped with refrigerators, air conditioners, clean toilets, and other essential facilities aimed at ensuring comfort and convenience for the pilgrims. In addition, pilgrims were grouped in rooms accommodating a maximum of five persons, with each room having a self-contained toilet and kitchenette to further enhance comfort and privacy.

Most of the buildings accommodating the Kano pilgrims in Makkah were located around the Mifala District, an area considered to be within walkable distance to the Masjid al-Haram, thereby easing movement for the pilgrims during prayers and other religious activities.

Many of the pilgrims who spoke on the arrangements commended the Kano State Government and the management of the Pilgrims Welfare Board for prioritizing their welfare and comfort.

They noted that the feeding arrangement was also commendable as pilgrims were provided with meals regularly, a development they said reduced stress and enabled them to concentrate fully on worship.

The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Matawalle, commended the pilgrims for their orderly conduct and cooperation since their arrival in the holy land.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of discipline demonstrated by the pilgrims, urging them to continue to be good ambassadors of Kano State and Nigeria throughout the Hajj exercise.

Meanwhile, all pilgrims from Kano State were yesterday transported to Makkah ahead of the commencement of the journey to Mina and Arafat for the major Hajj rites.
