Kano Loses Renowned Business Leader Bature Abdulaziz at 76

KANO – Dr. Bature Abdulaziz, a prominent Kano-based entrepreneur and respected community figure, has died at the age of 76 following a brief illness.
The late Abdulaziz, who was born in 1950 in Adakawa Quarters, Dala Local Government Area of Kano State, was the founder and president of the Patriotic Elders of Nigeria (PEN).
He also served as president of the Harmonized National Traders Association, positions through which he influenced economic and social discourse among traders nationwide.
Widely regarded as a key voice in the Northern business community, he rose to prominence during his tenure as leader of the Kantin Kwari Market Traders Association.
In that role, he championed traders’ interests and contributed significantly to the growth and organization of commercial activities in Kano State.
His death was confirmed to Kano Times by his son, Ismail Abdulaziz, who disclosed that burial rites would take place on Sunday.
“My father passed on after a short illness,” Ismail said. “Although we are deeply saddened by his departure, we remain thankful for the meaningful life he lived and the lasting contributions he made to society.”
