Jega Headlines FUD Global Conference on Nation Building

Jega Headlines FUD Global Conference on Nation Building

KANO —– Erudite Professor of Political science, Attahiru Jega, is set to headline a major international conference at Federal University Dutse, where he will deliver a keynote address on the challenges of nation building in the 21st century.
A statement by Abdullahi Yahaya Bello, Director Public Affairs, Federal University Dutse that was made available to Reporters, said the two-day conference, organised by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, is scheduled to begin on April 15th.
According to the statement, the global conference will bring together scholars, policymakers, and experts from across the globe to deliberate on pressing national and global issues.
He said Jega’s keynote will focus on critical governance and development concerns, including democracy, national integration, and institutional reforms necessary for sustainable nation building.
The statement noted that other prominent speakers expected at the conference include Professor Etannibi Alemika of Walter Sisulu University, South Africa; Professor Peter Bei Lyu of Panyapiwat Institute of Management, Thailand; and Professor Zakaria Ousman Ramadan of the Chadian Institute of Strategic Studies and Prospective Research, Ndjamena.
He said the conference will explore a wide range of sub-themes such as tax regimes, crime and security, democracy, national integration, and the role of the military in nation building.
Bello stressed in the statement that discussions will also cover national identity, corruption, infrastructure, and the digital economy.
Additional topics slated for deliberation include language policy, multilingualism, decolonisation of the mind, peace and conflict resolution, socio-economic inequality, criminal justice, and environmental politics as they relate to nation building.
The Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, is expected to attend as Special Guest of Honour, while the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Ahmad Muhammed Gumel, will serve as Chief Host of the event.
