Ja’oji Quits Tinubu Administration, Joins 2027 Electoral Race

By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul

KANO — The Senior Special Assistant on Citizenship and Leadership to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nasir Bala Aminu, popularly known as Ja’oji, has resigned from his position to pursue elective office in the 2027 general elections.

Ja’oji’s resignation follows a directive by President Tinubu mandating all political appointees with ambitions to contest in the forthcoming elections to step down from their roles on or before March 31, 2026.

The Presidential directive affects ministers, advisers, and other aides appointed into key government positions.

In a resignation letter addressed to the President, Ja’oji expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to serve the country, describing his appointment as both an honour and a privilege.

He noted that his selection into office reflected the President’s commitment to empowering young Nigerians.

Ja’oji further stated that his decision to accept both appointments during his tenure was inspired by the confidence reposed in him by the President, as well as a shared vision for national development, particularly in the area of youth engagement and leadership.

The former presidential aide pledged his continued loyalty and readiness to serve the country in any capacity deemed appropriate by President Tinubu.

He commended the administration’s focus on youth development, describing it as a cornerstone of the government’s Renewed Hope agenda.

Ja’oji also expressed optimism that the policies and programmes introduced under the current administration would yield greater results if given more time, hinting at his support for the President’s potential second-term bid in 2027.
