HJRDA Boss Salutes First Lady at 66, Credits Her Vision for 500-Woman Garden Project

KANO — The Managing Director of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRDA), Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, has congratulated the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as a national symbol of compassion whose grassroots vision has inspired practical action in food security and women’s empowerment.
In a goodwill message issued in Kano on Monday, Bichi said the First Lady’s commitment to improving the lives of women, youths and vulnerable families continues to shape development initiatives across the country.
He credited Tinubu’s Every Home A Garden Initiative with encouraging institutions to promote household food production as a pathway to economic resilience and self-reliance.
According to him, HJRDA translated that vision into action by training 500 women in homestead gardening and agricultural empowerment under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Inspired by this vision, the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority proudly trained 500 women in homestead gardening and agricultural empowerment in direct fulfillment of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Bichi said.
He noted that the programme was designed to equip women with practical agricultural skills capable of strengthening household nutrition, boosting family incomes and expanding community-based food production.
Bichi further stated that the success of the initiative reflected the First Lady’s sustained advocacy for food security, describing her leadership as a source of inspiration for agencies implementing people-centred development programmes.
“As Nigerians celebrate her 66th birthday, we honour a woman of grace, wisdom and unwavering commitment to building a better nation,” he added.
The HJRDA chief prayed for God to grant Senator Oluremi Tinubu good health, renewed strength and many more years of impactful service to Nigeria.
