Gunmen Raid Kano Community, Kill Three in Midnight Horror

KANO — Gunmen on Monday night invaded Yankamaye community in Tsanyawa Local Government Area, killing three residents and throwing the area into confusion as terrified villagers fled for safety.
The attack, which residents described as sudden and violent, reportedly saw the assailants storm the community firing gunshots indiscriminately at people and homes.
A member of the House of Representatives representing Ghari and Tsanyawa Federal Constituency, Engr. Sani Bala, confirmed the incident in a statement shared online, revealing that three bodies had so far been recovered following the assault.
“As at the time of this update, three people have been confirmed dead,” the lawmaker stated while expressing concern over the worsening security situation in the area.
Speaking on the attack, a resident identified as Saifullahi Sulaiman Sorodaya said many villagers were forced to abandon their homes after the gunmen began shooting continuously across the community.
“The attackers entered the town shooting without stopping, and people had no option but to run for their lives,” he said.
Another resident, Madahuru Isah Ibrahim, explained that several others sustained injuries during the attack and were rushed to hospital for urgent medical attention.
Sequel to the violence, Residents of Yankamaye and neighbouring communities have appealed to security agencies to strengthen surveillance and deploy more personnel to the area to prevent further attacks.
As at press time, there are no responses from relevant security agencies over the security breach.
