KANO  — A faith-based civil society organisation, Independent Hajj Reporters, has commended the Kebbi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for the early release of its 2026 Hajj flight manifest, describing the move as a major step toward improving transparency and efficiency in Hajj operations.
The group, in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Ibrahim Muhammad, praised the Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Farouk Enabo, and his management team for complying with the directive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria on the timely disclosure of pilgrims’ travel schedules.
According to the organisation, early publication of the manifest allows intending pilgrims to prepare adequately for their journey and reduces uncertainty ahead of the airlift.
“We commend the Kebbi State Pilgrims Board for releasing its flight manifest well ahead of the airlift. This aligns with NAHCON’s directive to ensure pilgrims are informed early about their departure dates to enable proper planning,” the statement said.
The group noted that the release of the manifest about 17 days before the commencement of airlift reflects growing improvements in the management of Hajj activities in Nigeria.
“This development shows a significant improvement in the standard of Hajj operations, particularly in pre-airlift arrangements,” it added.
Independent Hajj Reporters also urged other state pilgrims’ welfare boards to adopt similar practices to enhance coordination and efficiency across the country.
“We call on other states to emulate this commendable initiative, as it will greatly improve the overall standard of Hajj airlift operations nationwide,” the group stated.
The organisation further lauded NAHCON for maintaining its regulatory guidelines and ensuring compliance among stakeholders, while calling for sustained public enlightenment to keep pilgrims informed about their travel schedules.
“We also commend NAHCON for enforcing its guidelines and urge continued awareness campaigns so that pilgrims are fully informed once their schedules are finalised,” the statement added.
