ADC Picks Atiku’s Ally ‘Little’ as Its Kano Governorship Candidate

KANO — The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has picked Atiku Abubakar’s ally, Alhaji Ibrahim ElAmin, popularly known as Ibrahim “Little”, as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Kano State.
The decisive step brought to an end weeks of internal uncertainty over the party’s ticket in the most populous state in Nigeria.
The party’s Acting Chairman in Kano State, Dr. Umar Bala Kwalwa, presented the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Governorship Nomination Form (EC-13B) to Ibrahim Little, formally confirming his emergence as the party’s standard-bearer.
Ibrahim Little who announced the development on his verified Facebook page on Monday, described the presentation as a significant milestone in his political journey.
“By the grace of Allah, I have received the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Governorship Nomination Form (EC-13B) from the Acting Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano State, Dr. Umar Bala Kwalwa,” he wrote.
He added: “We pray to Allah to bless this milestone and make it a success.”
ADC concluded the process after resolving the leadership crisis that had unsettled its Kano chapter in recent weeks.
The party dissolved its state executive committee, installed a caretaker committee and tasked it with restoring unity and preparing the party for the 2027 general elections.
With Ibrahim Little now holding the party’s governorship nomination form, ADC has effectively opened its campaign for the 2027 governorship race in Kano as it seeks to rebuild its political structure and challenge the dominant parties in the state.
