Daneji, Sa’ad Take Fathers’ Seats in Kano Assembly

KANO —- It was an emotional moment at the Kano House of Assembly on Tuesday when Nabil Sarki Aliyu Daneji and Sa’ad Aminu Sa’ad took over their fathers’ seats in the Kano State House of Assembly following their swearing-in during plenary.
The two lawmakers were inaugurated to represent Kano Municipal and Ungogo local government areas following their successes at a by-elections couple of weeks ago.
The vacancies was created by the recent deaths of their fathers who previously held the seats.
Their inauguration took place during the Assembly’s sitting in Kano, marking a transition that blends continuity with renewed legislative responsibility.
Clerk of the House administered the oath of office and allegiance to the new members in accordance with legislative procedures.
Daneji succeeds his late father, who represented Kano Municipal constituency until his passing, while Sa’ad Aminu steps into the position formerly occupied by his father in Ungogo.
The Oath taking by the new lawmakers has restores full representation to the affected constituencies, allowing residents of both areas to regain active legislative voice in the 40 man state parliament.
With their inauguration complete, the new lawmakers are expected to join deliberations and committee assignments as the Assembly continues its legislative duties.
