Ja’oji Engages Kano Governor on Expanding Youth Participation in Governance

By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul

KANO – Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership, on Friday met with the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, as part of efforts to deepen youth participation in governance and civic engagement across the state.

The meeting, which took place during a courtesy visit to the Governor earlier in the day, focused on fostering collaboration between youth-focused initiatives and the Kano State Government to promote inclusive governance and leadership development.

During the visit, Hon. Ja’oji presented his letter of appointment as the Kano State Director of the City Boy Movement and briefed the Governor on activities and engagements carried out since assuming the role. The engagement provided an opportunity to outline the movement’s objectives and its emphasis on youth mobilization.

Discussions centered on creating platforms that encourage young people to actively participate in governance, leadership, and community development. Emphasis was placed on strengthening civic responsibility and nurturing future leaders through structured engagement.

The meeting also explored areas where the City Boy Movement could partner with the Kano State Government to support youth-oriented programs aligned with national development priorities.

Kano State was highlighted as a strategic center for youth engagement, with its large and dynamic youth population playing a critical role in shaping governance outcomes and development initiatives.

The visit further acknowledged the contributions of the Grand Patron of the City Boy Movement, Mr. Seyi Tinubu, in promoting youth leadership and national development through sustained support for youth-driven initiatives.

The engagement reflects ongoing efforts by Hon. Ja’oji and the City Boy Movement to advance youth inclusion in governance, strengthen civic participation, and contribute to sustainable development at both state and national levels.
