Yusuf Draws the Line on Attacks Against Kwankwaso
By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul
KANO  — Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has cautioned social media influencers and political commentators against making disrespectful and inflammatory remarks about the National Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Saturday.
The governor issued the warning on Friday during the distribution of 600 motorcycles to social media influencers at the Government House, Kano.
Governor Yusuf described Senator Kwankwaso as a leader whose contributions to the political and socio-economic development of Kano State remain outstanding and deserving of respect.
He warned that the misuse of social media to spread insults, misinformation and hate speech could endanger peace and unity in the state.
The governor stressed that freedom of expression must be exercised with responsibility, noting that political engagement should focus on issues and constructive dialogue rather than personal attacks.
He urged beneficiaries of the motorcycles to see the gesture as a responsibility to promote truth, peace and positive information about government activities across the state.
Governor Yusuf added that the initiative was aimed at empowering social media practitioners to support public awareness and enhance communication between the government and the people.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining stability and fostering peaceful political coexistence in Kano State.
