Two Lawmakers Die Within Two Hours In Kano Assembly

By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul
KANO  –  The Kano State House of Assembly was thrown into deep mourning on Wednesday following the sudden death of two of its members within a short span of time.
The tragic incident shocked lawmakers, staff, and residents of the state, as the losses occurred barely one hours apart.

The first lawmaker to pass away was Honourable Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo, who represented Ungogo Local Government Area in the House.

He was reportedly present at the Assembly earlier in the day to attend committee meetings before his death was announced.

News of his passing spread quickly through the Assembly complex, leaving fellow legislators stunned and sorrowful.

Many described him as a committed representative who was actively involved in legislative duties up until his final moments.

Barely an hour after the death of Hon. Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo, another tragic announcement followed. Honourable Sarki Aliyu Daneji, the member representing Kano Municipal, was also confirmed dead, compounding the grief within the Assembly.

The confirmation of Hon. Daneji’s death was made public by the Director General of Media to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Sanusi Bature who shared the heartbreaking news shortly after the earlier loss. The back-to-back deaths deepened the sense of shock across the state.

It was immediately clear what was responsible for their deaths at the time of going to press.
