Soldiers Push Back Bandits in Kano Village Assault

KANO  –  The Nigeria Military, on Thursday night successfully repelled bandits attack on Yankwada, Babanduhu and other villages of Shannon local Government of Kano State .
Security sources told Daily Independent that the troops had engaged the rampaging bandits on motorcycles who had launched a vicious attack on the affected villages in a gun duel that lasted several hours.
Confirming the incident, the Chairman of Shanono/Bagwai Community Security Forum Alhaji Yahya Bagobiri, said that the Bandits came on a revenge mission after loosing 9 of their fighters last week to the military fire powers.
Bagobiri explained that “The Bandits riding over 50 motorcycles, each having three persons with Bazookas and other weapons of war raided Yankwada, Babanduhu and other villages opening fire from around 1am Thursday to 5am Friday.
Yahya Bagobiri, however  commended the Military who he said for standing up against the enemy of the state, and repelled their attack.
In his words “The Bandits were dislodged by the Military tactical fighting despite the facts that they came with heavy arms.
He therefore called on the Federal Government to equip the military with sophisticated weapons to discharge their mandate.
Commenting on the incident, Major Babatunde Zubairu, the Public relations officers, 3 Brigade Nigerian Army told this newspaper that ” there was no casualty on the part of the military, or the civilian, and no cow was rustled.
