NUJ Chairman: My Investiture Reflects Journalism’s Role in Fostering Growth and Development

KANO — Faruk Muazu Gombe, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Gombe State Council, has described his recent conferment as the first Wakilin Sadarwar Gombe as a recognition of journalism’s vital role in promoting growth and development in the state.
A statement shortly after the historic investiture, Muazu emphasized that the honour was not only a personal milestone but also a proof to the impact of ethical journalism in fostering unity, progress, and community development.
Finenewsng.com reports that the investiture demonstrated the growing recognition of journalism as a force for positive change in Gombe State.
The signed statement that was made available to newsmen reads : “My investiture reflects the noble role of journalism in fostering growth and development”.
Muazu in appreciation statement extended heartfelt gratitude to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, CFR, the Emir of Gombe and Chairman of the Council of Emirs and Chiefs, for conferring the distinguished title upon him.
In his words “I am deeply honoured by this recognition, which underscores the importance of communication and journalism in our society,” he added.
He also expressed appreciation to the Emir’s delegation, led by Shamakin Gombe, for their presence at the ceremony. “The support of the delegation brought immense dignity to the occasion, and I am sincerely thankful,” Muazu noted.
“I am grateful to my family, the dignitaries, and the vibrant community of journalists who celebrated this achievement with me,” he said.
Muazu stressed that the title carries responsibilities of integrity, service, and dedication, which he pledges to uphold in his continued efforts to advance journalism and community development in Gombe State.
