Land Grabbing : APC Vows to Cancel Maikwatashi Land Deal If Elected in 2027 – Alfindiki
By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul
KANO – A frontline APC stalwart, Comrade Faizu Alfindiki, over the weekend vowed that all land transactions carried out at Maikwatashi School in Sabon Gari, Kano, would be revoked if the APC returns to power in the state in 2027.
The Senior Legislative Aide to the Speaker House of Representatives, who spoke in Kano expressed outrage that the land once dedicated to education is now being partitioned and sold allegedly at ₦100 million per plot.
Alfindiki who described the alleged land grabbing as “a disgraceful betrayal of public trust and a deliberate attempt to erase history.”
The top flight Kano politician stressed, “The excuse that parents withdrew their children from the school and that the area has become a hideout for miscreants is completely baseless.”
Alfindiki assured that the name “Maikwatashi will never be erased from Kano’s educational history”, stressing that under an “APC government, the school will be restored, revitalized, and returned to its rightful public purpose.”
“We will reclaim Maikwatashi. History cannot be sold for ₦100 million. The people of Kano deserve better,” he declared.
He, therefore condemned the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) administration in the state
for what he described as “gross hypocrisy, and double standards”.
He recalled that during the 2023 election campaign, the NNPP repeatedly accused the previous APC administration of selling public schools allegations he insists were false and politically motivated.
According to Alfindiki, Maikwatashi School is one of Kano’s oldest learning institutions, established during the colonial era to promote education among children in the Sabon Gari community.
“It is an insult to the people of Sabon Gari the same community whose votes largely secured victory for the NNPP during the last election.”
