Kano Mobile Court Sentences 100 Traffic Offenders In 48hrs

KANO-  The Mobile Court set up by Kano State Roads and Traffic Agency KAROTA on Thursday says no fewer that 100 traffic offenders have been sentenced over the last two  days .
A statement by Abubakar Ibrahim Sharada, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA), that was made available to Reporters in Kano explained that the convicts were found guilty of violating traffic rules and regulations at traffic lights points.
Abubakar Ibrahim Sharada stated that A unit of the mobile courts which held its session along airport road by Baban Gwari round about had forty one violators who were arrested and sentenced to various fines by the trial Chief Magistrate Halima Wali
He further revealed that “Magistrate Halima Wali’s
counterpart, Senior Magistrate Hauwa Abba sentences forty three motorists and Tricyclists who committed such offences along Zoo road by Gidan Buhari junction.”
The Managing Director, KAROTA,  Mr. Faisal Mahmud Kabir while welcoming the development, assured that the mobile courts would continue to hold such trials in different locations in Kano Metropolis to minimize the rampant cases of traffic lights violations.
The KAROTA Boss pointed out that the move was not meant to harass or intimidate motorists and Tricyclists as well as other road users, but to sanitize traffic flow on our streets and safeguard the lives and properties of citizens in accordance with Kano State Governor Alh Abba Kabir Yusuf administration’s people oriented policies and programs.”
