KANO — Kano State has been thrown into mourning following the death of former Managing Director of Kano Radio, Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim Getso,

 

Getso, who passed away at 75, but his contributions to journalism and broadcasting earned him widespread respect across the state and beyond.

 

News of his passing sparked an outpouring of grief from media practitioners, government officials, and members of the public, many of whom described him as a pioneer who helped shape the broadcasting industry in Kano.

 

During his years at the helm of Kano Radio, Getso was known for promoting professional journalism and strengthening programmes aimed at educating and informing the public. His leadership was widely credited with enhancing the station’s role in community development.

 

Colleagues and associates recalled him as a disciplined administrator and a committed broadcaster who dedicated his life to ensuring the dissemination of accurate and reliable information.
