The governor made the remarks on Tuesday in Tsanyawa town during a visit to troops of the Joint Task Force deployed to tackle banditry and kidnapping in several communities.
Yusuf said “Insecurity challenges are something new and something alien that have just been observed here in the state, and by the grace of Allah we will do whatever it takes to nip them in the bud, especially the activities of these bandits, kidnappers and others.”
The governor condemned recent attacks on residents, particularly in Tsanyawa and Shanono Local Government Areas, noting that many lives had been lost and several victims abducted.
Abba Kabir Yusuf stated “Many innocent lives were taken away. Many innocent people were also sent to the bush. We want to assure you that, In Sha Allah, those that were kidnapped will be brought back to join their families”.
He explained that his visit was aimed at assessing the security situation and interacting with the troops stationed in the affected areas. The governor also promised continued government support to security agencies operating in the region.
“We are also here to encourage you and motivate you to put in more of your best. I assure you that the government, along with all the security agencies, is here to support you. We will continue to do the needful, ensure your welfare and ensure that you are well taken care of,” Yusuf said.
