Energy at the Core of Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda — DG ECN

KANO – The Director General, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, on Thursday reaffirmed that energy development remains central to the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a critical driver of national growth and social progress.
In his New Year message to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, Dr. Abdullahi said the beginning of the year offers an opportunity for reflection and renewed commitment to building a nation that delivers inclusive development.
The ECN boss stated that “this moment invites reflection, renewed hope, and a shared commitment to building a nation that works for all.”
He emphasized that sustainable energy is foundational to economic transformation, noting that “energy remains central to our collective progress,” as it underpins industrialization, job creation, and improved quality of life across the country.
Dr. Abdullahi explained that the Energy Commission of Nigeria is focused on advancing policies and initiatives that ensure long-term energy security.
In his words “At the Energy Commission of Nigeria, we are steadfast in advancing a secure, sustainable, and inclusive energy future that supports national development”.
The ECN chairman who linked the commission’s mandate to broader government priorities, noted that its efforts are aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said this alignment is aimed at translating policy reforms into measurable benefits for citizens.
Looking ahead to the year, Dr. Abdullahi called for greater national unity and collaboration, stressing that progress in the energy sector requires coordinated action.
He added that collective effort would be key to turning strategic vision into tangible outcomes, noting that “together, we can translate vision into impact and ensure that the promise of progress reaches every community.”.
