Emir Sanusi II Resumes Lectures at Northwest University
By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul

KANO – The Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi II, on Tuesday officially resumed lectures at Northwest University, Kano, as a Level 200 Law student.

Sanusi II joined his classmates for early morning lectures, dressed in a black long gown with a white head tie. He sat comfortably at the back of the class in a three-seater during the session.

Northwest University, Kano, a state-owned institution, is dedicated to providing quality education in Northern Nigeria.

The Emir’s first lecture came after he completed all registration procedures in line with the university’s requirements. The institution had extended the offer of admission to Sanusi II last week, recognizing his extensive experience in governance, economics, and public service.

Already a PhD holder, Sanusi II is a former Central Bank Governor who has maintained a prominent role in public life, celebrated for his expertise and renowned for his advocacy for education and youth empowerment.

His younger classmates expressed excitement over his first day on campus, highlighting the symbolic significance of the Emir actively participating in university life.

A Level 200 Law student, who preferred to remain anonymous, said, “It is inspiring to see a leader of his stature embracing learning firsthand.”
