BREAKING: Gunmen Kidnap LG Secretary in Kano

KANO —–Unknown gunmen, Friday night reportedly abducted the Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area in Kano State, Alhaji Hamza Musa Durba.
The late-night incident reportedly occurred when the assailants numbering about six, stormed the residence of the official in Dinya town, located within Durba ward of Kibiya Local Government Area.
Security sources, said the attackers have arrived on motorcycles, armed to the teeth, but were surprised they did not discharge their weapons during the operation.
A security official in the area, Malam Musa Hussaini Ibrahim, confirmed the development, stating that the attackers carried out the operation swiftly and with precision.
He noted that the gunmen gained access to the residence without attracting significant attention from neighbors.
Eyewitness accounts further indicate that members of the victim’s family were present in the house at the time of the attack.
However, the gunmen reportedly left them unharmed and did not abduct any other individual, focusing solely on their target.
Residents of the area described the incident as both alarming and unusual, particularly because no shots were fired during the abduction.
Many expressed fears over the growing boldness of criminal elements operating within rural communities in Kano State.
Following the incident, security agencies were immediately alerted and have since launched a coordinated search operation.
Finenewsng.com reports that efforts are currently underway to track down the perpetrators and secure the safe release of the abducted official.
As at press time, Authorities have yet to release detailed information regarding possible motives behind the abduction, but preliminary indications suggest it may be linked to the rising cases of kidnapping for ransom in parts of northern Nigeria.
