Bakori Sacking Backers Not APC Members – Abbas
By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul
KANO – Kano State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, on Saturday clarified that his party has no affiliation with the 12 groups advocating for the removal of Police Commissioner Dr. Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.
APC groups held a press conference in Kano on Saturday backed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s call for Bakori’s dismissal.
The groups cited the police commissioner’s decision to withdraw personnel from the 65th Independence Day anniversary parade, which they claimed could lead to a breakdown of law and order in the state. However, Abbas’s statement distancing the APC from these groups raises questions about their legitimacy and motives.
In a swift reaction to this position, the State Chairman of the APC, Mr. Abdullahi Abbas, described the group as fake and not members of the party.
He said genuinely APC card carrying members backed the boycott of the Police to the parade Ground because he is answerable to directives.
Mr. Abdullahi Abbas further called on the Federal Government to even punished other Federal Security Agencies who attended the Parade Ground because according to him they have violated orders given to them.
“Government should hasten the investigation of those other Security agencies who participated at the event because they are directed not to participate”, he added.
