Shock, Grief as BUK Deputy Dean Dies

KANO — The academic community of Bayero University Kano (BUK) has been thrown into mourning following the death of the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Communication, Dr. Musa Adamu Labaran.

 

Dr. Labaran reportedly died on Monday morning after a brief illness at the university’s new campus.

 

His death has generated shock among colleagues, students, and associates, with many describing him as one of the finest intellectuals produced within Kano’s academic circle.

 

In a statement issued by the Faculty of Communication, the university expressed sadness over the development, describing his death as a huge loss to the faculty and the wider university community.

 

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Communication, Dr. Musa Adamu Labaran, who died this morning after a brief illness,” the statement read.

 

The faculty added that the late academic’s death was a painful loss to all who knew him, praying to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdausi.

 

Dr. Labaran was widely respected for his contributions to communication scholarship, mentorship, and academic development within Bayero University Kano.

 

As condolences continue to pour in, family members, colleagues, students, and associates have continued to pray for the repose of his soul.
