Ganduje, Shekarau Accompany Garo to Office

KANO —– Two former Governors of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Ibrahim Shekarau, on Tuesday made a joint appearance as they accompanied the newly sworn-in Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo, to his office as he officially assumed duty.

 

The development came barely a 24 hours after Garo was sworn in, marking his first formal day at work in office as Deputy Governor of the state.

 

The high-profile escort by the two former governors attracted wide political attention across Kano largely seen the city dwellers as a significant show of support.

 

Finenewsng.com reports that the visit was not ceremonial alone but also a symbolic gesture reflecting unity among key political actors in the state.

 

The presence of Ganduje and Shekarau, both influential figures in Kano’s political history, has been interpreted by residents as a signal of emerging alignment among senior stakeholders.

 

Bash M Bash, a Political commentators who spoke on the development, argue that the gesture may help strengthen coordination within the state leadership, especially as  Abba Kabir Yusuf’s  administration consolidate on governance responsibilities.

 

As Garo settles into his new role, attention remains focused on how such displays of unity among prominent leaders may shape governance and political relations in Kano in the months ahead.
