Police Arrest Kidnappers In Akwa Ibom, Rescue Victims Unhurt

In a decisive victory against criminal elements, the Akwa Ibom State Police has announced the arrest of kidnappers and the successful rescue of their victim, who was abducted in the early hours of Monday, July 14, 2025.

Addressing journalists during a press briefing at the State Police Headquarters in Ikot Akpan Abia, Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, revealed that the victim, whose identity remains protected was kidnapped from his residence in Ikot Abasi at approximately 2:00 AM. Fortunately, he was rescued unharmed by officers along a road in Southern Annang.

“This rescue is a powerful reminder of what is possible when our security forces remain vigilant and committed to their duty,” CP Azare said, emphasizing that the operation was powered by timely intelligence, swift coordination, and frontline bravery.

Others include: A pullover used to blindfold the victim, and B1 sweater

Commending the officers responsible for the rescue, CP Azare said that SP Kingsley Anosike, CPL Ideba Eleng, and PC Nsikak Vincent will receive commendation awards for their exceptional service.

The Commissioner closed the briefing with a clear message: “Crime will not prevail in Akwa Ibom State. We will continue to pursue justice for victims and ensure the safety of every citizen.”
