KANO — Broadcast journalist Sadiyya Yakubu Yahaya has joined growing public commentary on the ongoing controversy involving Saleem Goje, urging restraint and caution in the handling of the matter currently trending on social media.

In a post shared on her verified Facebook page, the TV presenter—often referred to in entertainment and media circles as a “TV glamor girl”—called for calm amid the heated online discussions, warning against the dangers of turning private marital issues into public spectacle.

According to her, individuals involved in relationships should exercise discipline and avoid engaging in public exchanges that could further escalate tensions or attract unnecessary ridicule from online audiences.

“Saleem Goje na man him be, and women can always tempt men, it takes the grace of Allah to escape it. For me, I think he should just totally ignore the whole saga on social media,” she wrote.

She further emphasized the sanctity of marriage, cautioning against airing domestic disputes online regardless of the circumstances.

“Marriage is a sacred place. You don’t bring your marital problems online. People will mock you and the internet doesn’t forget,” she added.

Yahaya also suggested that couples facing challenges should either seek private resolution or walk away quietly if reconciliation is not possible, rather than exposing their grievances on social media platforms.

“If he is cheating and you don’t like it, you can silently walk away from the marriage rather than washing your dirty plates in the public domain,” she stated.

Her intervention has since generated mixed reactions online, with some users agreeing with her call for discretion, while others argue that social media has become a legitimate space for airing personal grievances and seeking public support.
