Terrorized Communities in Zamfara, Katsina call for Military Intervention

Gusau-  Residents of Tsafe and Yankara in Zamfara and Katsina States are urgently calling for comprehensive military action to dislodge bandits wreaking havoc in their domains.
In an interviews, locals expressed desperation to reclaim their lives and livelihoods, particularly farming, which has become perilous due to the bandits’ relentless attacks.
A resident, Kallamu Tsafe said of recent bandits have increased the tempo of their activities in the two affected areas, targeting farmers, traveller’s and communities along Gusau to funtua road.
He said this has forced many people not to travel outside their areas as bandits now on a daily basis blocked the major highway that passes through the areas three to four times a day, kidnapping passerby.
Also commenting Malam Shamsu Yankara expressed regret that if the situation is not contained, many farmers Will not be able to harvest their produce in the farm.
He also expressed concern that the recent killings of six  members of the state owned security outfit community watch guard by bandits along Yankara to Faskari road had instill fear in the minds of residents of the area.
Locals, including Kallamu Tsafe and Mal Shamsu Yankara, emphasized the urgent need for military intervention to restore peace and security.
The recent killing of 14 state-owned security personnel has instilled fear among residents, and had further  heightened farmers fear missing the harvest season.
