Press Statement:
Respecting Leadership Legacy : Malam Khalil Unwarranted Outburst On Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, A Call For Caution
By Ali Ali Yunusa Lokon Mekera
I am compelled as a student of Malam Ibrahim Khalil to address a recent development that has sparked concern among citizens and observers alike, in response to Malam’s disparaged comments on our political leader, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Mallam Ibrahim Khalil, a respected religious figure, has consistently criticized Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, a two-term former Governor of Kano State. While I acknowledge Mallam Khalil’s right to express his opinions, we strongly believe that his latest criticism of Ganduje is off-mark and unwarranted.
As a religious leader, Mallam Khalil has a significant following and influence in the community. His words carry weight, and his opinions can shape public discourse. It is, therefore, essential for him to exercise caution and restraint in his criticism, especially when it concerns individuals who have served in leadership positions.
Interestingly, Dr.Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s tenure as Governor of Kano State was marked by significant achievements, and his legacy should be respected.
We understand that disagreements and differences of opinion are natural in politics. However, as a religious father, Mallam Khalil should focus on promoting peace, unity, and understanding rather than fueling crises.
We don’t want to believe that your criticism of Dr. Ganduje seems to be driven by a personal agenda, which undermines the respect and dignity that should be accorded to a former Governor.
You may wish to note that Ganduje’s contributions to the development of Kano State cannot be overstated. During his tenure, he implemented various projects and initiatives that improved the lives of citizens. His leadership legacy should be acknowledged and respected, even by those who may have differing opinions.
Mallam Khalil may wish to accept that his criticism of Ganduje only serves to create divisions and undermine the progress that was made during his administration.
It is essential for religious leaders like Mallam Khalil to recognize the impact of their words on their followers and the broader community. As a respected figure, he has a responsibility to promote understanding, tolerance, and peace. By criticizing Ganduje, Mallam Khalil is inadvertently creating tension and fueling conflicts that could have been avoided.
We urge Mallam Khalil to reconsider his approach and focus on promoting unity and peace in the community. As a religious father, he should strive to be a source of comfort and guidance for his followers, rather than a source of division and conflict. By doing so, he can help to create a more harmonious and cohesive society.
Furthermore, we believe that it is essential to respect the legacy of leaders like Ganduje who have served their communities with dedication and commitment. Their contributions should be acknowledged and celebrated, rather than criticized and undermined. By respecting their legacy, we can promote a sense of continuity and stability that is essential for progress and development.
In conclusion, we call on Mallam Ibrahim Khalil to refrain from disparaging Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and instead focus on promoting peace, unity, and understanding in the community.
