Police Says Kano Explosion Kills 5, Injured 15

KANO  – The Police authority in Kano on Saturday confirmed that no fewer than 5 people lost their to a blast that occurred around the strategic eastern bypass, which also left 15 others injured.
The police Commissioner,  Dr. Ibrahim Bakori Reporters in Kano that the command has deployed detectives from the Improvised Explosives Unit (IED) to ascertain whether what went off was a bomb.
Dr. Ibrahim Bakori said “we are yet to ascertain weather the blast is a bomb blast or otherwise, because the explosion happened at a scrap firm where so many iron and other dangerous materials are kept.”
He said that the IED Police teams are still at the venue trying to to ascertain the caused of the blast.
The Police Commissioner, explained that those injured were rushed to hospital while the dead were taken to the mutuary.
However, an eye witnesses told newsmen that the blast was a bomb blast that came from a travelling Trailer to Yobe State.
He claimed “The blast came from one big trailer that was filled up with something like Military equipment and from a layman perspective we are convinced that the blast came from that Trailer which was going out of Kano”.
