Police Nab Fake Officers, Seize Operational Vehicle, Handcuffs, Cash In Kano

KANO  – The Kano Police Command over the weekend apprehended a syndicate of 5 fake Police Officers seizing their operational vehicle, handcuffs, and cash.
The Command’s Special Intervention Squad (SIS) conducted a significant operation driven by credible intelligence, arresting the suspects, who were all in their 40s.
SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa  the Local Image Maker in a signed statement for Commissioner of Police listed Aliyu Abbas, 35, Sani Iliyasu, 47, Ashiru Sule, 41,  Abubakar Yahaya, 45, and Adamu Kalilu, 45 as the suspects.
SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said “The suspects were found in possession of several incriminating items, including a fake Police Warrant Card, Handcuffs, Two Thousand Five Hundred (2,500) in CFA, mutilated Naira notes of different denominations, and their operational vehicle, a blue Peugeot 406 with registration number NSR-189-BD.”
The Public Relations Officer of the Command explained that “During the investigation, the suspects confessed to engaging in a series of impersonations, admitting to using the fake Police Warrant Card to extort innocent citizens and commit other nefarious activities in Kano, Katsina, and Kaduna States. They will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.”
He disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, reaffirmed that the Command is committed to upholding law and order and will not tolerate any form of criminal impersonation or illegal activities.
SP Kiyawa therefore urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station for action.
