Maulud : Kano Declares Friday Public Holiday

KANO – The Kano State Government has declared tomorrow, Friday, as a public holiday to mark the Maulud celebration in commemoration with the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
A statement by Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the
Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs that was made available to Reporters in Kano said “The Government calls on civil servants, members of the private sector, and the general public to observe the holiday peacefully and in accordance with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).”
The statement said “Citizens are further encouraged to use the occasion to reflect on the values of unity, tolerance, and obedience to lawful authority.”
Waiya said “in addition, the State Government urges residents to take advantage of this blessed occasion to offer special prayers for peace, prosperity, and the overall progress of Kano State and Nigeria at large.”
The statement further said “The Government extends its warm felicitations to the good people of Kano State and wishes them a peaceful and memorable Maulud celebration.”
