Lagos Red Line Rail Services Upgrades Capacity

KANO (Kano, North West Nigeria) – In a bid to enhance mobility and reduce travel time for residents, the Lagos Red Line Rail Service is set to expand its capacity starting tomorrow.
Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu gave the announcement on Sunday via his Facebook timeline that the rail service will increase its daily trips from two morning trips to five morning and four evening trips.
Sanwo-Olu said ” This upgrade will provide better commuting options for residents traveling between Agbado and Oyingbo.”
He said “The Red Line Rail Service boasts a total journey time of just 50 minutes from Agbado to Oyingbo, with reduced waiting times of two minutes at each station.”
The governor explained that “This enhancement promises to deliver efficient and reliable transportation, making daily commutes faster and more convenient for residents.”
According to him “The expansion is part of the state’s commitment to improving mobility across Lagos. The arrival of three new train sets will further boost the Red Line’s capacity, solidifying its role as a vital part of the city’s integrated transport system.”
He said “Lagos is building a city where connectivity drives economic growth and improves the quality of life for all residents,” said the statement. “The Red Line isn’t just a train service—it’s a game-changer for commuting in Lagos.”
The governor maintained “With this upgrade, residents can expect faster and more convenient travel, contributing to the city’s ongoing efforts to enhance mobility and connectivity.”
