Kwankwaso : Service Chiefs Shake-Up Shows Tinubu’s Security Commitment
By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul
KANO –  President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s recent replacement of Service Chiefs is said to be an action that is more of a proactive and precautionary measure in tackling Nigeria’s lingering insecurities, rather than any speculative rumors.
A statement by Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, Director of Finance, Hadejia Jamaare River Basin, said, “The President’s actions are rather a sign of leadership that listens and acts when his citizens cry out across the board, not one that would presume the outcries are baseless and unfounded.”
Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, a staunch member of the ruling APC, congratulated the President and insisted that he clearly shows his readiness to take hard decisions to save the lives of his citizens.
“President Tinubu has reaffirmed that the safety of Nigerians must come before sentiment, loyalty, or routine showmanship of his Security Chiefs. He shows that the lives of Nigerians matter more than friendship, political or even tribal sentiments,” Kwankwaso said.
He explained that the new Service Chiefs come with intelligence, coordination, and morale, and overall, the political will of the President has given them his rapid attention.
“The insecurities require commanders who understand both the battlefield and the minds of those they lead. It demands fresh leadership that can innovate, integrate technology, and inspire renewed confidence in the troops,” Kwankwaso added.
To the new Service Chiefs, he said, “They should know that President Tinubu has made it clear that underperformance will no longer be tolerated. Their actions must be defined by results, peace restoration, lives saved, and confidence rebuilt in communities long haunted by violence.”
“For now, Nigerians must rally behind this decisive move. The security of our nation is a shared responsibility, one that demands unity, vigilance, and faith in the collective mission of peace. President Tinubu has played his part by resetting the system; the new Service Chiefs must now prove that the nation’s renewed hope is not misplaced,” Kwankwaso concluded.
