Nigerian Political Class Unites At Kwankwaso’s Daughter’s Wedding To Mangal

KANO – Nigerian politicians across divide stormed the ancient city of Kano on Saturday to grace the society wedding between Kwankwaso’s daughter, Dr. Aisha and the son of a business mogul, Dahiru Mangal.
It was a roll call of who is who in the Nigerian politics as the former Nigerian President, Chief Mathew Olusegun Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo stole the show with his white flowing gown adorned with red cap to match, an outfit associated with Kwankwasiyya movement .
The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and former governor of Bauchi, Adamu Mu’azu were among the top flight politicians in attendance at the wedding ceremony.
The event which held at Kano emirs palace, Kofar Kudu where Sanusi II held sway was also attended by serving governors, former governors, serving and former Ministers and members of the National and state Assemblies, diplomats, business communities and political associates, faith based clerics and captains of industry.
The large turn out the VIP’s delayed the religious ceremony scheduled for 11:00am for an hours as it further stretched facilities at the oldest palace in the sub saharan Africa.
However, soon as the Vice President, Kashim Shettima arrived the palace with his host, Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Chief Imam of Kano State, Dr. Sani Zahradeen tied the knot between the couples, Fahad and Aisha after the sum of N1 million was paid as dowry.
In line with established Islamic protocols, the Vice President, Kashim Shettima who stood in as the representative of the groom, Fahad Mangal handed the dowry to Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State who also stood in for the bride, Dr. Aisha Kwankwaso.
The high profile wedding was wrapped up with a reception immediately at the Kano State Government house, 5 minutes drive from the palace.
During a pep talk, Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State commended Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso for his immense contributions to the growth and development of politics and democracy in the country.
The governor equally lauded the contribution of Kwankwaso to the growth of the New Nigeria People’s Party which formed government in Kano State during the 2023 general elections.
He then advised the bridegroom, Dr Aisha Kwankwaso, and her groom, Fahad Mangal, to cultivate tolerance and understanding among them to achieve a peaceful married life.
The governor also emphasised the importance of mutual understanding and respect in building a strong marriage.
He thanked all the guests who attended the wedding fatiha, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, serving and former governors as well as members of state and national assemblies.
