Kano killings assault on human dignity, Yusuf orders manhunt

KANO – Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has described the killing of a woman and her children in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters of the Kano metropolis as an assault on human dignity, ordering security agencies to launch an immediate manhunt for the perpetrators.
Yusuf, in a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesperson, Mr. Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said the brutal murder was barbaric and unacceptable, noting that such an act has no place in a civilized society.
“The killing of a mother and her innocent children is a senseless and barbaric act that constitutes a grave assault on human dignity,” the governor said.
He extended his condolences to the bereaved family, residents of Dorayi Chiranchi, and the entire people of Kano State, while praying for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
“I pray that Allah grants the departed eternal rest and gives their family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this painful loss,” Yusuf said.
The governor vowed that his administration would ensure justice is served, stressing that those responsible would not escape the long arm of the law.
“I have directed the Kano State Police Command to immediately hunt down the perpetrators and ensure they are arrested and prosecuted.
He stressed that “Anyone found culpable will face the full wrath of the law”.
Yusuf also ordered the Kano Neighborhood Corps to intensify patrols and community surveillance, particularly in vulnerable areas, as part of measures to strengthen grassroots security and prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
He called on residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and useful information, assuring them of the government’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
The governor further reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to maintain peace and security and to safeguard the dignity and safety of all Kano residents.
