Kano APC Holds Congress Tonight, Lines Up Committees

KANO –‐– The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kano State has announced the constitution of three high-level committees to oversee its State Congress scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
A statement issued on Monday night by the outgoing Kano APC Spokesperson, Ahmad Aruwa, the congress will hold at the Indoor Sports Stadium, Kofar Mata beginning at 8:00 p.m.
Aruwa said the party leadership constituted panels “to ensure a transparent, credible and well-coordinated congress process in line with the party’s constitution and guidelines.”
Ahmad Aruwa announced that the Congress and Accreditation Committee will be chaired by Rabi’u Sulaiman Bichi, with Hon. Muhammad Jamu Yusuf serving as secretary. Other members include Hon. Baffa Babba, Rt. Hon. Butu-Butu, Hajiya Sa’adatu Algon and several party stakeholders.
The party also named a Publicity Committee to be chaired by Muhammad Garba, with Mr. Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Director General Media to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as secretary.
Aruwa said Garba’s committee which also has Hajiya Binta Spikin, Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, Ghali Sadiq among others ascl members is expected to coordinate information management and media engagement before and during the congress.
To ensure safety and order, the APC constituted a Security Committee headed by Col. Malami. Other members include CP Balarabe Musa, Group Captain Kura and Air Commodore Yusha’u Sulaisu Tudun Wada.
Aruwa said the party leadership has full confidence in the capacity of the committees to deliver a peaceful and successful congress.
He enjoined members and stakeholders to cooperate and conduct themselves in a disciplined manner, reiterating the APC’s commitment to strengthening internal democracy and unity in Kano State.
