Hajj 2027: Kano Sets Deadline for Passport Submission
By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul
KANO — The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed August 25, 2026, as the deadline for all registered intending pilgrims to submit their valid international passports ahead of the 2027 Hajj operation.
The directive, according to the Board, is aimed at ensuring that the documentation and enrolment of prospective pilgrims are concluded within the timeframe required for the Hajj process.
The Board’s Director-General, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, warned that intending pilgrims who fail to submit their passports before the deadline could forfeit their Hajj seats.
Matawalle said the urgency was necessitated by the anticipated closure of the Saudi Arabian Hajj registration server towards the end of August, making timely submission critical to the completion of pilgrims’ documentation.
He urged all registered intending pilgrims who were yet to submit their passports to do so promptly through the appropriate channels before the August 25 deadline.
The Director-General further cautioned that the Board would not be held responsible for any consequences arising from a pilgrim’s failure to meet the stipulated deadline.
The Board consequently advised all intending pilgrims to treat the directive as urgent and ensure that their documentation is completed within the prescribed period.
