Gwamna Promises Service-Driven Leadership for Gombe

By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul

KANO — Dr Jamilu Ishiyaku Gwamna, the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Gombe State, has pledged to pursue service-driven leadership focused on unity, continuity, and development.

Reacting shortly after being announced as the party’s consensus choice, Gwamna described the development as a call to greater responsibility rather than a personal political victory.

In a statement issued through his media aide, Ibrahim Sani Shawai, he said the endorsement represents a significant moment that demands commitment to service and collective progress.

“I receive with deep humility and a profound sense of responsibility the endorsement for the 2027 governorship race under our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), graciously given by His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON,” he said.

He added that the ticket comes with expectations that go beyond individual ambition.

“This moment is not about an individual. It is about continuity of purpose and the collective aspiration to place Gombe first in all that we do,” Gwamna stated.

According to him, his leadership vision would be anchored on strengthening existing achievements of the current administration while introducing policies aimed at long-term development and inclusive growth.

He also expressed appreciation to Governor Inuwa Yahaya for the trust placed in him, describing it as both an honour and a responsibility.

“Your confidence in me is both an honour and a solemn trust. I do not take it lightly. It is a call to greater service, guided by the vision you have established, anchored on stability, prudent governance, and measurable progress,” he said.

Gwamna further extended respect to other aspirants within the APC, urging unity and cooperation among party members ahead of the 2027 elections.

“I wish to state clearly that this moment is not about an individual. It is about continuity of purpose. I remain open and committed to working with all of you in the spirit of unity, consultation, and shared responsibility,” he said.

He also commended the leadership of the APC in Gombe State, led by Chairman Mohammed Dantata Ndus, for what he described as guidance and discipline within the party.

Addressing stakeholders, including traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil servants, women, and youths, Gwamna pledged inclusive governance that listens to the concerns of all citizens.

“My vision for Gombe State is anchored on continuity and sustainability—consolidating achievements while introducing innovative policies that ensure long-term development and improved welfare for all,” he said.

He further appealed for peace and restraint among supporters, warning against any form of political hostility.

“To our supporters and well-wishers, I urge calm, restraint, and maturity. This is a time for unity, not division,” he added.

Gwamna concluded by expressing gratitude to the people of Gombe State, assuring them of his commitment to justify their trust through service-oriented leadership.
