KANO — Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has appointed the immediate past Kano State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Ahmed Muhammad Aruwa, as Special Adviser on Publicity in a fresh round of appointments and reassignments announced by government.
A statement issued on Thursday by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Mr. Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, explained that Aruwa’s appointment forms part of a broader restructuring of the governor’s advisory team.
Mr. Bature Dawakin Tofa said,
“Governor Yusuf approved the appointment of Hon. Ahmed Muhammad Aruwa as Special Adviser on Publicity”.
The governor also approved the appointment of several other Special Advisers, including Hon. Buhari Sule Kura as Special Adviser on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Hon. Yahuza Ado Yankaba as Special Adviser on Motor Parks.
In addition, several serving advisers were reassigned to new portfolios, while the offices of Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs and Special Adviser on Liaison Offices (Abuja) were scrapped as part of the restructuring exercise.
The statement quoted Governor Yusuf as saying that the changes were intended to “optimize administrative efficiency and align government institutions with the priorities of his administration.”
He congratulated the newly appointed and reassigned officials, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them through commitment, loyalty and dedication to public service.
The governor further reminded the appointees that “public office is a trust that must be deployed for the advancement of Kano State and the wellbeing of its citizens.”
The statement added that portfolios for some of the newly appointed advisers would be announced upon the governor’s return to the country.
