Faizu To Gov. Yusuf : Kano Won’t Halt Criticism of Your Administration Until Kwankwaso Ends Interference
By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul
KANO – Immediate past Chairman of Kano Municipal Council, Comrade Faizu Alfindiki, on Thursday declared that Kano won’t stop criticism of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration until his political godfather, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso ends alleged interference.
Comrade Alfindiki who reacted to the governor’s radio broadcast live on some local media in Kano on Wednesday night, urged the governor to address key concerns that triggered the controversy.
The warning from Faizu Alfindiki might not be unconnected to concerns about Kwankwaso’s perceived interference in the current administration.
The tough talking All Progressives Congress stalwart said “Allah made you governor for an appointed term as a trial, He will certainly hold you accountable for all actions and inaction under your stewardship”.
Alfindiki on a cautionary note said “His Excellency, Kano heard your defence on the need for you to stand on your feet loud and clear, but unfortunately, the legs had dislocation last night.
Governor Yusuf in his defense during the interview said that “it is a direct insult for anyone, or group to asked me to stand on my feet, of course the target is to set me up against my inlaw, and political godfather “.
Yusuf vehemently denied any rift between him and his political godfather, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as he pointed out their relationship remains cordial.
A frontline online newspaper had reported that the crisis in the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, in Kano took a new twist as Governor Abba Yusuf posted out the permanent secretary Special Duties, Aminu Kura, in the Office of the Deputy Governor as well as the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Local Government, Ibrahim Kabara.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf during the live session warned those spreading false information and seeking to create division between him and Kwankwaso, stressing that they would not succeed.
Abba Kabir Yusuf pointedly cautioned those that are advising him to stand on his feet as an executive governor to desist from such an act if they truly love him and his administration.
The Governor therefore reassured the good people of Kano that his administration will not lose its focus on governing the state effectively.
