Comrade Ahutu: The Quiet Radical Who Lived for His People
By Mallam Salihu Ibrahim
He called me Ako Mighty and always smiled along. l couldn’t asked him for the Justification before his death because he intimately admired and enjoyed my inconsequential approach on any fundamental issues.
Before his death, the late Comrade Ahutu once called me through a telephone conversation, begging me profusely to please mobilize and meet the Odayani in Kano towards settling FGYB and Sen. Natasha’s political tussle. He specifically reffed to my inputs in a similar political tussle, involving the late Sen. A. T . Ahmed and Amb. Usman Bello. But he was bittered in my response because I told him about the complexity of this particular case and the characters behind it. Apart from such observations, l have great affection for APC government in Kogi State. Still, leveraging on my great affection for the late comrade, l went ahead and met Odeyani( Kano). Conclusively, Hon. Yahaya Karaku end up guessing for himself and his mistress (Senator ). Hence, the late comrade Ahutu soft-pedal, a bit speechless but looked prosperous.
Comrade Ahutu’s intensed and pronounced assistance towards Anebira, in any available opportunity came glaring when he used his position, as the personnel manager of a particular company to employ our people. He adopted various tactics to beat his general manager in that direction. Sympathetically, he almost paid for his dearing posture in a similar development, but nothing for him to regret. Until his death, comrade remained a focus person and fully solidified.
The first time Imam Badamasy, (Ebira Peace Maker ) met Comrade Ahutu in my house for a meeting, he was uncomfortable and psychologically depressed in the process. I personally and purposefully arranged it in that way because the late comrade can easily scan possible imposter. Abruptly, Imam Badamasy indirectly whispered about him in the meeting because he heard about the late Ahutu’s level of intelligence and radicalism. Imagine, Comrade Ahutu pathetically sidelined by an imposter. Not in Kano because we are patients , endures and focus ahead of others in any emerging challenges. We exclusively managed the situation within two months and discovered that Imam Badamasy performed his activities in a clever way; not a wise man working within our expectations. Hence, the Odeyani ( Kano) banned his introduction of his peace mission in Kano. In a prompt and wise response, the late Comrade Ahutu suggested the introduction of Special Advisory Committee to the Odeyani’s Council. He was a serving member of the council, until his death.
Comrade Ahutu hardly shared his private life activities with people and anyhow. He observed events with strong analytical review. In his lifetime, he conducted himself in a humble manner, basing his specific action on principle and personal conviction. He wasted a lot of credits, phoning me and others, trying to find out any particular development or issues bordering Anebira with the intention of getting our viewpoint. I discovered, he developed special likeness for anything ODA, Sen.Natasha, Community Development and disliked exploiter
The sudden death of late Comrade left us unaware. However, our good people residing in Kano State tried a bit for his family. I wants to use this opportunity to please call on Alh. Tijani Mohammed Abdulsalm ( Chief Editor and Veteran Journalist) for his prolific write up, in a befitting tribute to late Comrade Ahutu.
May Almighty Allah continue to bless his soul and the entire family. Ameen Ameen Ameen.
