Dr. Abdulaziz, who served as National President of the Harmonised Traders Union, President of the National Patriotic Elders, and President of the Kantin Kwari Market, passed away on Saturday after a brief illness in Kano.
In a condolence statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Malam Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau described the late businessman as an exceptional and influential personality whose impact transcended commerce.
“Dr Bature Abdulaziz, MON, was not only a successful businessman but also an institution. When he was president of Kantin Kwari Market, he provided purposeful leadership that strengthened commerce, created opportunities for thousands of traders, and enhanced Kano’s historic position as a commercial nerve centre in the country,” he said.
Senator Barau, who also serves as the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the leadership and members of Kantin Kwari Market, the Nigerian Marketers Association, and the wider Kano business community.
“I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives his shortcomings, accepts his good deeds, and grants him Aljannatul Firdaus. May Allah grant his family, business partners and the entire Kano business community the strength to bear this great loss,” he added.
