A Middle-aged Man Stabs Grandparents to Death in Kano

KANO  –  The police authorities in Kano, on Thursday arrested one Mutawakilu Ibrahim (m), 30 for allegedly causing the death of  his grand parents over food-related disagreement.

The victims, Muhammad Dansokoto (m), 75, and his wife,  Hadiza Tasidi (f), 65, were said to have suffered multiple injuries in various parts of their bodies that evaporated slims chances of survival.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano state police Command, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, a Superintendent of Police that was made available to Reporters in Kano explained that “during the altercation, the suspect allegedly used a knife to stab both victims in various parts of their bodies, causing severe injuries.”

SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said “The victims were immediately rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital Kano, where they were confirmed dead by medical personnel”.

The police local image maker disclosed that “Their corpses were examined and later released to their relatives for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.” He further elaborated that “The alleged culprit, suspected to be under the influence of intoxicants has been arrested.

According to the police statement “based on the directives of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section for discreet investigation”

He however assured that “The suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.”
