Yusuf’s Defection to APC Strengthens Unity in Kano — Dan’agundi

By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul

KANO —- The Director General of the National Productivity Center, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, has described the defection of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a major boost for unity and stability within the party in the state.

Speaking with journalists in his office, Dan’agundi said the governor’s decision to join the APC marked a “positive political development” that has strengthened internal cohesion.

“We thank Almighty Allah for this development. It has reinforced confidence among members and repositioned the APC for greater success in Kano,” he stated.

He commended Yusuf for what he called a rare display of fairness and inclusive leadership since joining the ruling party.

According to him, the governor has embraced both old and new members without discrimination.

“Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf welcomed us with open arms and without bias. He has shown that he is a just and fair leader committed to unity,” Dan’agundi said.

Dan’agundi further revealed that the governor voluntarily conceded leadership slots to original APC members in order to foster harmony.

“In areas where he was entitled to about 60 percent of positions, he allowed the original APC members to present the majority of candidates.

He did this deliberately to show we are now one united family,” he explained.

The APC chieftain also called for loyalty to party leadership, particularly to former Kano governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

He urged members to demonstrate discipline and operate under a unified command structure within the party.

“Our respected leader, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has always guided us toward unity and structure. All original APC members must show loyalty by giving total support and obedience to Governor Yusuf as the APC leader in Kano State,” Dan’agundi emphasized.

Speaking on behalf of the Tinubu Support Groups in Kano, he pledged intensified grassroots mobilization ahead of future elections.

“We will do everything humanly possible, from the grassroots to the polling units, to ensure the victory of Governor Yusuf and all APC candidates,” he assured.

Dan’agundi also praised party leaders in Kano Municipal Local Government for promoting cooperation and stability.

He urged other local governments across the state to emulate the example, noting that sustained unity would guarantee electoral victory and strengthen the APC’s dominance in Kano politics.
