Tinubu’s Aide Celebrates Figures Showing APC’s Expanding Grip on States
By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul
KANO —- Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, a media aide to President Bola Tinubu, on Friday rolled out fresh statistics showcasing what he described as the expanding political dominance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Nigeria’s states.
The soft spoken Tinubu’s media Aide’s remarks followed the reported defection of Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri.
Reacting to the development, Abdulaziz took to his verified Facebook page to present a breakdown of governors by political party, asserting that the APC now controls 31 states.
“The numbers speak for themselves,” he said, adding that the party’s growth reflects “the confidence Nigerians continue to place in the leadership and direction of the APC.”
According to the figures he shared, the APC leads with 31 governors, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) controls two states — Bauchi and Zamfara.
He added that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) holds one state, Anambra; the Labour Party controls one state, Abia; and the Accord Party governs one state, Osun.
Abdulaziz also took a swipe at the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that despite what he termed the party’s “noisy presence” in political discourse, it does not control any state.
“The noisy ADC — zero,” he wrote, suggesting that political relevance should be measured by electoral victories rather than rhetoric.
He argued that the growing number of APC-controlled states signals political stability and alignment with President Tinubu’s reform agenda.
“This consolidation is not accidental. It is the result of strategic leadership and performance,” Abdulaziz said.
The reported of Governor Fintiri defection marked a significant shift in Adamawa’s political landscape, given its history as a PDP stronghold.
